Belmopan, Belize, May 06, 2016: Effective May 1, 2016, Guardian General Insurance Limited trading as NEMWIL, which has been providing general insurance services in Belize for the past 28 years, was rebranded to Guardian Group. Guardian Group is the new single brand of the Guardian Holdings Limited group of companies, which operates across the English and Dutch speaking Caribbean and Central America under such market leaders as Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited (“GLOC”) and Guardian General Insurance Limited (“GGIL”). Guardian Group through GGIL underwrites the following classes of insurance business: Commercial, Liability, Residential, Motor and Marine. 

The Guardian Group brand was launched in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica and the Dutch Caribbean in July 2013. Belize is the 10th rebrand exercise to take place within the region. Over the past three years, Guardian Group embarked on a major strategic initiative and rebranded all its subsidiaries across the English and Dutch Caribbean. Guardian Group is the leading financial services and insurance group in the Caribbean, with a product suite that includes Life and Health insurance and Pension products, all classes of General Insurance and Asset Management.

The new brand identity does not change the legal name of Guardian General Insurance Limited on all contracts, policies and products. This rebranding signifies a new era for the Group and is designed to strengthen and further institutionalize the company’s customer-centric direction.
